What is NDIS ILO (Individualised Living Options)?

ILO is a package of supports that lets you choose where and how you live in the way that best suits you. ILOs are reached through a variety of pathways with no two end results looking the same; this is because they are highly customised to match your support needs. NDIS ILO funding is one pathway. NDIS funding can be used to:

  • explore different ways to live – with friends, family or a host or alone
  • design a support package to help you live the way you choose

When exploring your ILO options we take the time to consider your preferences around how you want to live, your strengths, support needs, and your informal and community networks. Your ILO and the funding you receive will then be specific to your needs.

There are lots of choices with ILO. The purpose of an ILO is for you to live in a way that best suits you!

Supported by a Department of Social Services ILC grant and powered by the National Alliance Capacity Building Alliance (NACBO), we have developed a practical self help toolkit to build the capacity of individuals wishing to apply for NDIS ILO. The easy use toolkit walks the reader through the phases of formulating an NDIS ILO funding application offering practical tips and tricks as well as user friendly examples and personal stories. The toolkit brings together resources and links that lived experience peer have found helpful.
