Individual Living Options – The WA Experience of Home and ILO by Bronia Holyoak

There is some great reading in the June issue of The Crucial Times, a newsletter published by our friends and partners at the Community Resource Unit in Queensland (CRU), with one of the articles published from our very own CEO, Bronia Holyoak.

This month’s edition of The Crucial Times is full of stories about creating homes, one person at a time and focusing on how to assist people to achieve living rich lives within their communities, without compromising the supports they might need to take up their role as head of their home.

The stories shared showcase how each person’s living options are as individual as they are, with Bronia’s article exploring how some of these options may be possible, with the Individual Living Options project now being offered as part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Her article also illustrates the important message of the ability of people to influence policy in trying to change the opportunities for people with disability to live in homes of their own.
