Coronavirus Update from NDIS

Today the NDIS has released an official statement with excellent easy read documents relating to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Measures are being taken to minimise the spread of the virus and there will be changes to the way the NDIS interacts with participants and families; less face-to-face meetings, meaning they will contact you by phone.

You are also entitled to request phone meetings and would advise you do so if you are a person more likely to be susceptible to the negative outcomes of contracting the virus.

Coronavirus is a respiratory illness, with symptoms ranging from a mild cough to pneumonia. Some people recover quickly and easily, and others may get very sick, very quickly.

Good hygiene prevents infection for most people.

The Department of Health website has the most up-to-date information and key resources to help you understand if:

– You are at risk
– Need to Isolate yourself
– How to prevent contracting the virus

Valued Lives encourages you to check this website for factual and current updates:…/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-hea…
